The first confession was made by Henry Hudson in 1609, this region belonged to the Dutch who came forward inhabit Fort Orange, near the site of what is now the capital of New York, Albany, New York in 1614 and in 1624 colonized by the Dutch, both in Albany and Manhattan; later fell to England in 1664 when captured.
